Zeilervaring in Barcelona

What a nice treat this was. Our captain was great and everything was set up nicely. After several days of walking tours this was a fantastic change of pace.
First time really sailing on a boat for me, and easily one of the highlights of our trip to beautiful Barcelona. We did the sunset sail out of Port Olympic and operated by Azul Sailing. Robin was our skipper and was amazing. I think we lucked out because it was just the two of us on the boat with the skipper, my understanding is it could have been more. Robin let us take the wheel and actually gave us instructions and guidance. Don't just be a passenger, actually get hands on and so glad Robin encouraged us to give it a go. The sunset was amazing. The photos we took don't give it justice. Was a little difficult to find where to meet up at the port, and I thought we were supposed to be emailed more detailed instructions on where to meet, but it never came. A simple Google Map with a star on the spot would have been all that was needed. We actually ended up finding the spot in the SW corner of the Port by the entrance road, after walking all the way around. Would highly recommend to others.
Do give yourself plenty of time to arrive. We had a little trouble finding the boat slip in the harbour. It is way towards the back row. A little frazzled upon arriving since we were worried the boat would leave without us since we were barely on time. However, the rest of our experience was great. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were the only people that had booked for that time of day so it was like we had a private tour. The captain and his mate were wonderful. Unfortunately, we only sailed for a short while using the sails since it was not a windy day. It was our first time on a sailboat and we were hoping to experience the feel of a true sail but of course this was dependent on the wind and not the fault of the tour. We switched to using the motor and that was fine too. My daughter got to swim a bit which she really enjoyed while I took in the gorgeous views of Barcelona. After the sail boat tour we found an amazing seafood restaurant in same harbor called La Barca del Salamanca where we had a fabulous dinner. The service and food was outstanding!
We were only two that day. Daniel was our guide. It was very informative. He recommended the restaurant La Fonda, right there by the port. They have great choices, and the food was amazing.
This trip was so relaxing and awesome! We listened to some of the tour then decided to sit on the front of the boat and relax-- and that was totally OK! everyone was very professional and it was a great experience.
The price was extremely competitive and the boat was very nice and clean.
Great 3 hour sailing trip - exactly as we wanted. Only 7 passengers and really lovely boat - immaculately clean. Friendly skipper who was happy to either teach us about sailing or let us relax and sunbathe. Stopped somewhere safe so we could jump off and swim, which was an unexpected bonus. Did struggle to find the office and had to ask in several places around the port so perhaps a little more signposting would be helpful. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints. Thank you very much.
