Stop At: Mihai Bravu metro station, Șoseaua Mihai Bravu 514, București, Romania
Your Bucharest communist tour will begin with a trip to some of the metro stations built under the Ceausescu Regime. The first line was opened in 1979, and the metro network is completely different from other systems in Eastern Europe, having been built with two purposes in mind: speed of transit and practicality. You will then visit a communist neighborhood that was built especially for the working class. Here you will catch a glimpse of what the day-to-day lives of common people looked under the rule of the communist party. This walking tour is also a perfect opportunity to spot some of the street art that was strictly prohibited during Ceausescu's reign.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Palace of Parliament, Strada Izvor 2-4, Bucharest 050711 Romania
Next, you will visit the most famous tourist attraction in Bucharest, the Palace of the Parliament. Originally named "House of the Republic", it was one of the most spectacular projects carried under the rule of Ceausescu. It was built between 1984 and 1997, and it holds the Guinness World Record for the largest administrative building in the world, measuring 240 meters in length, 270 in width, and 84 in height. The building is also known as the House of the People.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Ceausescu Mansion, Bulevardul Primaverii No.50 District 1, Bucharest 011975 Romania
The final landmark of your tour is the home of the Ceausescu couple, the Ceausescu Residential Palace (Spring Palace). This luxurious estate was built between and 1964 and 1965, and it hosted Elena and Nicolae Ceausescu from 1965 until their death in 1989. After the fall of the communist regime, the Spring Palace was used as a VIP residence for official delegations and foreign presidents, and in 2016 it became a museum.
After visiting the Ceausescu Residential Palace, your communist tour of Bucharest will come to an end, and we will drop you off at your hotel.

Our tour was wonderful and was made that way by our tour guide Bogdan. We are so grateful to him for explaining a complicated history and helping us to understand the challenges that Romania has faced as a country. Tour is great for history buffs,
Our tour guide Nicole had so many stories to tell. I liked the fact that she had old photos of the buildings and places we visited and she also shared with us some of her and her family experiences in communism. She really made the tour come to life.
