De tour start bij het treinstation van Caen, waardoor u gemakkelijk kunt aansluiten als u met de trein vanuit Parijs komt (op eigen kosten). Volg uw gids naar het Mémorial de Caen, een museum over grote historische gebeurtenissen vanaf het einde van de Eerste Wereldoorlog tot de val van de Berlijnse Muur. Uw gids is opgeleid door historici van het museum en zal u vertellen over de intense voorbereidingen voor D-Day door beide partijen, en de enorme betekenis van de dag in de afloop van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Stel uw gids gerust vragen over D-Day terwijl u geniet van een tweegangenlunch geserveerd met mineraalwater en een glas wijn bij La Terrasse, een restaurant in het museum.
In de namiddag gaat u aan boord van een comfortabele minibus met airconditioning en begint u aan een 5 uur durende tour langs enkele van de belangrijkste locaties van D-Day, waar u over hebt geleerd tijdens uw museumtour door het Mémorial de Caen. De bezienswaardigheden die u ziet zijn afhankelijk van uw wensen. U kunt kiezen voor een bezoek aan de belangrijkste Amerikaanse locaties van D-Day, maar kunt u ook richten op de Canadese.
Als u hebt gekozen voor de Amerikaanse tour, brengt u een bezoek aan de kunstmatige haven van Arromanches, de Amerikaanse militaire begraafplaats bij Colleville-sur-Mer, Omaha Beach en het Pointe du Hoc. Kiest u voor de Canadese tour, dan bezoekt u Bernières-sur-Mer, het Juno Beach Centre, de Canadese begraafplaats in Bény-sur-Mer en de Abbaye d'Ardenne

Op zondagen van 28 januari t/m 31 maart en van 1 oktober t/m 31 december duurt de rondleiding door het Mémorial de Caen-museum slechts 30 minuten. Dit komt omdat de eerste trein vanuit Parijs om 11:00 uur aankomt en de tour met gids langs de locaties van D-Day om 13:00 uur vertrekt.

- Deze tour is niet geschikt voor kinderen jonger dan 3 jaar
- Als u met de trein vanuit Parijs komt, moet u uw eigen reisschema samenstellen en uw eigen treinkaartje kopen. U moet proberen om in Caen aan te komen om 9:00 uur (10:00 uur op zaterdag en 11:00 uur op zondag).
- U keert rond 18:30 uur terug naar het station van oktober t/m maart en rond 19:30 uur van april t/m september zodat u de trein terug naar Parijs kunt nemen. De vertrektijden van de trein zijn onderhevig aan wijzigingen in de weekenden en op feestdagen, en verschillen in de zomer en winter. Controleer uw treintijden vóór het boeken.
- Op zondagen van 28 januari t/m 31 maart en van 1 oktober t/m 31 december duurt het museumbezoek slechts 30 minuten door de latere aankomsttijd van de eerste trein vanuit Parijs
- Wij wijzen u erop dat het Mémorial de Caen is gesloten van 7 t/m 29 januari 2018, op 25 december 2018, op 1 januari 2019 en van 6 t/m 28 januari 2019 en op maandagen in november en december

Our guide Rosie was excellent, an experienced and professional guide who works for the Caen Museum. From the initial greeting at the Train station to the end good byes 8 hours later she was entertaining and wonderfully educational. The Museum was more than I expected, very big and filled with amazing visuals. It was very interesting to hear the French side of the war and the divisions within the country as well as the Europe events leading into and out of the war. The highlight was walking through the bunker. A very nice lunch was provided and then we were driven in a nice 8 person van to the first site Point du Hoc the area where the Rangers launched their landing, After an introduction by Rosie we were given ample free time to wander the area and explore the landscape and appreciate the task the rangers had in June 1944. The cliffs are huge! The 2nd stop was Omaha beach where a huge and impressive sandy beach remains. Again free time to wander and take in the views and flashback to the many war movies that showed the landing. Off on a nice beach road drive through the village to the American Cemetery - massive grave sight overlooking the Beach, with a memorial. Rosie provided some interesting facts and then we were given time to walk the area. From here were taken to the last stop where we watched an impressive 20 minute 9 movie screen in the round movie on D Day and the troop advances that finally made it to Paris. The visuals and the music was outstanding and again using film that I had never seen before. A full day with very good value and would recommend this to all of my friends,
As a student of history with a passion for the World Wars in particular, I wanted to take a tour of the D-Day sites while I was in Normandy. I chose this specific tour because it included not only the beaches, but also Pointe du Hoc and the Memorial de Caen Museum. The guide did fantastic job, and she presented a rich account of the Battle of Normandy without overwhelming the group. She also allowed us some free time at each site, which was very nice. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit the D-Day areas.
This was the best part of my family's 2 week stay in Europe! We took the morning train from Paris and our guide, Victoria, met us at the station. Everything was well done, professional and informative. Victoria was personable and enthusiastic about history and really made the tour so much more than we anticipated. There were seven of us and the van was comfortable, not cramped. The museum in Caen was a good starting place and the lunch was very good. The landing sites and American Cemetery were the highlights and the real reason for our trip to Normandy. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this tour and Victoria as a guide.
Since we visited on the busy weekend of the 75th anniversary, we unfortunately were unable to tour the Memorial de Caen Museum. The visits to the Landing Beaches were an extremely emotional experience. Overall the tour was worth every second and the lunch was delicious. Highly recommend this tour.
This was a well executed tour -- easy to find the tour start, guides were there waiting and were excellent. Museum -- would have liked more time there. Lunch was very good -- accommodated a gluten intolerance very nicely. Tour of the beaches two: Utah and Omaha was a little disappointing in that the locations did not convey the heroic difficulties the soldiers had to overcome. Perhaps this is because you can't get to the shores/cliffs that were crawled over and climbed up. Cemetery -- excellent. The guide gave a meaningful introduction and overview and then gave us plenty of time to walk through the cemetery.
If you have only a day as I did to visit the most popular sites at Normandy, then I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide,Marylynne hope I spelled it correctly! was absolutely the best - knowledgeable, polite, patient and encouraged questions. Our group was small, and having a driver who knew where he was going was a bonus.Being a first-timer, I could not have done this by myself in the allotted time without going nuts - this was the closest thing to a private tour I have ever experienced. WELL worth the money. If you are staying a Caen a couple of days, don't forget the Pegasus Bridge memorial and museum.
Best tour in our trip!
When you go on a guided tour, you get a lot of insight that you would not normally have received. On this particular tour, be ready for much driving, but well-chosen sights. Even on a cold, northerly wind day, with the Omaha Beach sand blowing through our teeth, it was worth it. Yes, you can take your car and drive to these places, but if you're visiting France without a car or you would simply like more information on the American sites, it's worth it. It's even fun for children and youth because of the bunkers and things to see and do. Originally wanting to see the British and Canadian sites as well, I now realize why it's better to split these into two days. There's a lot of land, and Operation Overlord covered quite a bit of territory. Special thanks to the tour guide and the driver!

This tour is incredible. What an amazing in-depth experience that really immerses yourself in the history. Our guide Mario was extremely knowledgeable, fun and answered all our questions. The beaches and cemetery were somber but fascinating to see. Lunch was yummy. Take this tour!
Best tour of our trip. Our guide was knowledgeable and the day couldnt have been better. We learned causes of World War I and II. My husband and hi highly recommend this tour.
