Dag 1: Great Barrier Reef-cruise
Tijdens deze tocht van 1,5 uur vanuit Cairns, geniet u van een presentatie door een mariene bioloog terwijl u op weg bent naar het rif. Bij aankomst krijgt u vijf uur de tijd om te ontspannen en de rand van het Great Barrier Reef te verkennen tijdens een cruise. Ga lekker zitten en geniet op het ruime activiteitenplatform of verken het water met de verstrekte snorkeluitrusting en instructies voor beginners.

Als u niet nat wilt worden, zijn er veel activiteiten die u kunt doen, waaronder een tour met een semi-submersible, een boot met glazen bodem, een observatorium waar u het rif onderwater kunt bekijken en een sessie waar u vissen kunt voeren en uitleg krijgt van een zeebioloog.

Gedurende de dag kunt u ‘s ochtends en ‘s middags van lekkere thee genieten, er is ook een lunchbuffet dat door een chef-kok is bereidt.

Dag 2: dagtrip naar Kuranda
Vertrek vanuit uw hotel in Cairns en ga richting de Kuranda Scenic Railway waar u aan boord stapt en naar het dorp Kuranda reist. Onderweg kunt u van het adembenemende uitzicht op Cairns genieten als u de heuvel op reist.

Bij aankomst bezoekt u het Rainforestation Nature Park, waar u ook kunt genieten van de Pamagirri Aboriginal-ervaring. Ga vervolgens op een Army Duck tour door het regenwoud en bezoek het Koala & Wildlife Park.

Daarna kunt u genieten van een heerlijk barbecue-buffet als lunch voordat u naar de Australische Butterfly Sanctuary gaat en uw terugreis begint via de Skyrail Rainforest Cableway waarna de bus u oppikt en terugbrengt naar uw accommodatie.

Did this trip with the family 6 year old included. The train ride into the forest was a bit long this is the only part of the trip that I could have done without. The rest of the day was great, got to take a picture with a koala, throw a boomerang not successfully, Gondola ride - this was spectacular, sit back and enjoy the views. Enjoyed getting off at the second stop and taking the small walk around the park guide - oh no, I forgot his name, was very informative, friendly and funny. Great Barrier Reef ---- WOW!! Something not to pass up. Although the seas were a bit rough getting out, it was all worth it. The views were amazing. They have prescription masks to rent on the boat which made my day - I was actually able to see everything below. HUGE shout out to Michelle and Cosmo. They were both wonderful guides and a favorite of the 6 year old. Cosmo would scoop her out of the water every time she came near the platform. And Wally, can't forget him, seeing a fish that size up close and personal is something to never forget.

We had a great time, a little sea sick on the Reef trip, take sea sickness tablets early! Other than that it was a great experience!

This was a great tour and I would highly recommend them. We were picked up from our hotel on time as stated in our booking and confirmation. We took the train which took us through the beautiful scenery and waterfalls to the top of Kuranda mountain. There we walked through Kuranda Village with its many unique shops and restaurants. Here we took a boat ride into the rain forest. Afterwards we saw a performance by the Aboriginal dancers and learned how to throw a boomerang..so cool! We then visited a wildlife sanctuary called Featherdale where we saw and took pictures of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, Tasmanian Devils, penguins, birds etc. We then took the cable car down to the bottom of the mountain where we were picked up by our shuttle bus that took us back to our hotel. The second day we were again picked up from our hotel to the wharf to board a catamaran that took us out to the great barrier reef where we spent the day snorkeling and swimming. They also provided a semi-submarine to see the corals as well as a glass bottom boat. A delicious lunch including shrimp was provided with many snacks on the boat on our return back to the wharf. Diving instructions/expedition along with snorkeling safari was offered for an additional cost. The corals around the docking station were awesome and the tour company provided you with a wet suit, snorkeling gear, fins, life vest and swimming noodles if you wish. There was a lifeguard overseeing the swimmers at all times so that even the faint at heart like myself could take the plunge. Would definitely do this tour again....it was definitely worth it!
