Chengdu Private Tour of Dujiangyan Panda Base and Qingcheng Hot Springs, Including Lunch

Meet your private guide in the lobby of your hotel at 8am and transfer by air-conditioned car to Dujiangyan, approximately 37 miles (60 kms) away from downtown Chengdu. The Dujiangyan Panda Base covers an area of about 125 acres and has immense bamboo forest coverage providing the pandas with a very natural habitat to develop in. The base consists of a rescue and quarantine area, a disease control and research area, a rehabilitation and training area, a public education area, and a natural vegetation area. 

During your visit here, you will gain a real insight into the hard work that goes into caring for and boosting the population of this species. Unlike the Chengdu Base of Giant Panda Breeding that specializes in breeding captive pandas, Dujiangyan base focuses on helping the injured or ill pandas return to the wild and providing a secure environment for older pandas to live in.

After lunch, you can relax at the Taoism Hot Springs in the expansive grounds of Qingcheng Howard Johnson Resort Hotel by yourselves (without guide accompanying you), which has one large indoor pool and about 10 outdoor pools for you to relax in. The towering trees and the chirping of birds in the background will make this a very peaceful and refreshing visit. Following 2 hours relaxation in the hot springs, you will return to Chengdu where you tour ends on arrival at your hotel.
