4-daagse Classic Machu Picchu Inca Jungle Trek
Dag 1: Cuzco - Pispitayoc (fietsen)
Iedereen stapt aan boord! Wij regelen vervoer voor de hele groep vanaf uw hotel, vanaf 5:30 tot 6:00 uur. Na een rustig ritje door het heilige land stoppen we voor een ontbijt in een mooie B&B onder aan de berg. U kunt dan nog extra spullen kopen voor de wandeling op de volgende dag. Later gaan we naar de Abra Malaga-pas voor een 3 uur durende afdaling over een mooie, rustige autoweg die uitkijkt over de incavallei. Aan het einde van het programma kunt u gaan raften en de dag eindigt bij een prachtige ecolodge in de stad Santa Rosa.
Dag 2: Pispitayoc (Ecolodge) - Santa Teresa (Trekking)
Deze dag wandelen we de hele dag. Deze incaroute leidt langs kleine koffieplantages, fruitbomen, ananasvelden enz. U ziet ook vele soorten planten, orchideeën en vogels die in het landschap leven. Het duurt 2,5 uur om naar het dorpje Qellomayo te wandelen. Na een pauze wandelen we weer 2,5 uur naar: een hangbrug, watervallen en rivieren, kabeltrein in een tunnel tot aan de warmwaterbronnen van Cocalmayo waar we de rest van de dag blijven. De reis eindigt in het stadje Santa Teresa en daar overnachten we.
Dag 3: Santa Teresa - Aguas Calientes (wandelen)
De passagiers die van tevoren hebben gereserveerd gaan naar de tokkelbaan* (zij gaan later met de bus naar Hidroélectrica). De rest van de groep wandelt circa 3 uur door tot bij het trefpunt. De groep gaat naar een mooie cottage in de schaduw van Machu Picchu voor een heerlijke lunch. Na een ontspannen dutje in een hangmat in de schaduw gaat de reis circa 3 uur verder over de spoorlijn door de jungle totdat u aankomt bij het stadje Aguas Calientes. De groep wordt tegen 16:00 uur naar hun kamer begeleid en 's avonds gaan we voor een geweldig diner naar een restaurant. Een deel van deze tijd wordt gebruikt voor het organiseren van de reis naar Machu Picchu de volgende dag.
Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco
De groep staat vroeg op om naar Machu Picchu te gaan. Na een route tegen de berg op door het bos. Met een beetje geluk pikken we daar de zonsopgang mee! De gids geeft u een gedetailleerde rondleiding van 2 uur door het oude heiligdom. Later is iedereen vrij om op eigen houtje Machu Picchu te verkennen. Passagiers die een wandeling naar Huayna Picchu *Stairs of death* hebben gereserveerd, zullen versteld staan. In de namiddag keert de groep afzonderlijk terug naar Aguas Calientes en wacht op hun terugreis per trein (21:30 uur) richting Ollantaytambo. *Wij raden u aan uw gids te vragen naar nog meer wandelroutes in het gebied of hotspots waar hij u naartoe kan brengen. U kunt ook een extra overnachting reserveren om de volgende ochtend rustig te vertrekken. Wij zullen laat aankomen in Cusco, om middernacht.

This was an incredible experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life. All organizational aspects of the trip were great, and Jonathan was a good guide. The only thing that was somewhat annoying was the amount of rest that was provided. At times it felt like we were sitting around more than walking. However, considering all the experiences that we still ended up with, the trip was excellent.
Everything that we did in the journey itself was amazing and Pablo was an amazing guide. If you take part in the journey I recommend you take part in all the extras white water rafting, ziplines, and hiking Hiyanu Pichu. We were lucky for the first two days in that we only had a group of 3 myself, my wife, one other traveler, and our guide. Due to this, though, we were able to stay at an Ecolodge looking down on a glorious valley view breathtaking. The second day of hiking was light with a siesta built in but the walk on the Inka trail was magnificent once again, props to Pablo for taking pictures and great explanations. The hot springs were a much needed respite after the day of hiking. The hostels nights 2 and 3 left something to be desired especially the hostel in Aguas Calientes but the 3 am hike to Machu Picchu was the experience of a lifetime. After the hike we had a lot of down time in Aquas Calientes which is pricey, watch out for service charges at restaurants but the PeruRail ride was great. All in all, the trip was intimate and exciting, allowing us to make several friends along the way. This trip is a bit pricier online in advance than booking in the city, but we were also the only people with a reservation in advance long enough to hike Machu Hiyanu. Though you cant reserve a specific guide, Pablo was by far the most professional and reliable guide Ive ever had.
The route was good, but the organization could have been better. Our pre-departure meeting was first delayed, then improvised in Spanish, after me and my friend had been to the agency twice on the same day. the pick up the next day was one hour late, despite the fact that the agency assured us we would have been the first ones to be picked up, since our hotel was out of the city center. generally pick ups in Peru were quite punctuals, that was the only time we had to wait. when the driver arrived, he didnt greet us or apologized for the wait. at the time of booking we were assured we would sleep the first night in a shared room, but the other nights in double rooms. We ended up sleeping the first night in a room for 5 people, and the other nights in a triple room. we had booked and pre-paid the additional excursion to huayna picchu, but when we got to the agency we were told that it was sold out, but we could do an other trek instead which was way harder. Board and lodging was ok. I totally recommend the trip itself, but with a better operator.
The tour in itself was fun. It was a great trip and I got experience something amazing while hiking along the way. However, logistics were not clear. Conde travel and since then, updated their packages but there were expenses along the way that were not told to us ahead of time which was stressful.
Conde Travel was extremely unprofessional and did not show up. Viator does not want to help solve the problem.
The tour itself was fantastic and one of the best experiences of my life! Everything was really well organized through Condetravel and we had the best group and guides! The tour is not for the weak as there is a lot of physical activity, but the guides kept a pace everyone could keep up with. As far as food goes, I opted for vegetarian options, but they could not accommodate that since you are staying with families in remote areas who eat meat from their farms, but you can get by. Sleeping accommodations were basic, but comfortable. Keep a LOT of bug spray on you for this trek. No wifi at all for most of the trek. Highly recommend going with this company. Here are my words of advice: I highly recommend booking this tour directly with Condetravel as it is half the price with the exact same itinerary. Some of the people on the tour with me booked the day before we left without problem. This tour has activities like water rafting, biking, and ziplining, all of which are NOT included in this viator price. When the guide asked me to pay for the biking, I threw a fit because I paid so much more than everyone else and did not have all this included like they did. They were kind and gave me the full package without trouble, but you may not be so lucky so I would not book this tour online.
