Om 09.00 uur begint u uw 1-daagse tour in de beroemdste straat van Edinburgh, de Royal Mile, waar uw chauffeur/gids een kijkje geeft in het fascinerende verleden van Edinburgh.

Stoppen bij: Stirling Castle, Castle Esplanade Upper Castle Hill, Old Town, Stirling FK8 1EJ Schotland

Terwijl u zich een weg baant naar Stirling, hoort u het verhaal over de echte 'Braveheart', William Wallace. Ontdek een van de grootste en belangrijkste kastelen in Schotland, Stirling Castle (op eigen kosten), en geniet van het fantastische uitzicht vanaf de kantelen op het Wallace Monument. Of u kunt ook door de historische straten van de oude binnenstad van Stirling slenteren als u dat leuker vindt.

Stoppen bij: Loch Lomond, Stirling Schotland

Vervolgens gaan we via de Duke's Pass met prachtig uitzicht op het Trossachs National Park naar het meest romantische loch (meer) van Schotland, Loch Lomond. Onderweg ontdekt u waar de inspiratie voor één van Schotlands beroemdste en meest geliefde nummers vandaan komt. Bij Loch Lomond, onderdeel van het Loch Lomond en Trossachs National Park, geniet u van het uitzicht over de grootste massa van vers water in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Geniet van het uitzicht, maak een ontspannen wandeling over de rustige oevers of een korte klim naar Craigie Fort.

Stoppen bij: Glengoyne Distillery, Dumgoyne, Glasgow G63 9LB Schotland

Onze laatste stop van de dag is bij whiskydistilleerderij Glengoyne. Proef echte Schotse alcohol terwijl deskundige gidsen u het langdurige proces van het maken van de Schotse nationale drank uitleggen (op eigen kosten). Als whisky niet echt uw ding is, kunt u een wandeling maken naar de nabijgelegen Dumgoyne Hill met uitzicht op de waterval verscholen achter de distilleerderij.

Perfect day out of Edinburgh. Great stops and Glengoyne is a wonderful small distillery to visit. Lots of information from our lovely tourguide John (or Lord John that he wanted us to call him:))

We really enjoyed seeing these interesting places. Tour guide was knowledgable and friendly. It’s a long day but well worth it. The only negative is we got rubbish seats on the bus. We arrived 20 minutes before tour left and were last of 16 people to board the bus. Which meant we had to sit at the back of the bus in a row of four which was a serious squash and meant we were all uncomfortable. The seats are child sized. We would definitely book again, but next time arrive an hour early and try to board bus in time to get either single or a pairs seat.

The driver (Rory) was great, told stories and made an extra stop at the bridges for photos. He kept us on track even though we had a couple stops take long.Sterling castle is less crowded than Edinburgh and we had plenty of time. Loch lomand is beautiful and the distillery was perfect!!

Overall the tour was ok, not not great. Sterling Castle visit was good with enough time. Couldn't get enough time at Loch Lomond for the usual Cruise through the Loch. Visit to Distillery was also good. The guide/driver was quite friendly but should have given more information about the various locations. He missed to give lots of information of major landmarks.

a very interesting day out from Edinburgh , are guide was very good , are first stop was the stunning Stirling castle , where we were given a free tour which was very interesting after a lunch break we were taken to see loch Lomond but my highlight of the tour was the Glengoyne distillery tour , it was the first time I had been to a whisky distillery , and was explained how the whisky is made starting from the barley grains, and also learnt the difference between blended and single malt also got try try some great whisky I would recommend this tour while in Edinburgh
