U ontmoet uw gids buiten bij het schitterende Palazzo Pitti in Florence. Ooit het weelderige thuis van de invloedrijke Medici-familie en nu is het koninklijk paleis uit de Renaissance een reeks van belangrijke galerieën en musea.
Leer meer over het paleis en over de geschiedenis van de Medici-familie, die dit gebouw in de 16de eeuw overnamen en tot 1737 in Toscane regeerden. Tijdens hun bewind vergaarden zij een ongelooflijke collectie schilderijen, waarvan vele nu in de Galleria Palatina te vinden zijn.
Sla met uw ticket de wachtrij over en krijg toegang tot de rijke galerie. Zodra u binnen bent, leidt uw gespecialiseerde gids de weg door de traditionele schilderijkamers. Kijk al wandelend hoe de schilderijen niet in chronologische volgorde of op stijl zijn gerangschikt, maar op esthetische waarde.
Stop en bewonder kostbare kunstwerken van beroemde kunstenaars, zoals Caravaggio, Rafaël, Titiaan, Rubens en Pietro da Cortona, in weelderige vergulde lijsten. Als u de schoonheid van de schilderijen in u opneemt, vertelt uw gids u over de betekenis ervan.
Geniet in de sierlijke kamers in de Galleria Palatina ook van het uitzicht op de elegante Boboli-tuinen en Brunelleschi's Santo Spirito-basiliek die u door het raam kunt zien.
Na twee uur vertrekt uw gids, maar u bent vrij om de rest van de dag nog in de Galleria Palatina te blijven.

Guide was informative and excellent presenter. The palace was relatively quiet as the tour was in the morning. She made the tour engaging and interesting. The collection was stunning. Overall this was fantastic treat!

Our guide's knowledge was fantastic, he made the art works come alive, we learnt so much about the Medici's and their chosen artists and art works...I enjoyed this tour more than my amazing tour of the Uffizi ...it is the collection chosen by a family and not a catalogue of art as displayed in the Uffizi ....you will not be disappointed.

We were the only two on this tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the history and culture of early Florence. The information on the tour provided a fantastic basis for visiting the Palatine Gallery at a more leisurely pace to spend longer soaking in the masterpieces hanging throughout the gallery. Highly recommended.
