Onze gids wacht u op in de lobby van uw hotel en u begint aan een wandeling in de oude wijk '36 straatjes' voor een bezoek aan enkele beroemde en gespecialiseerde eettentjes/lokale restaurants, waar u beslist een aantal bijzondere gerechten zult proeven (we houden rekening met vegetariërs of andere wensen)

De oude wijk in Hanoi is meer dan duizend jaar oud en heeft nog veel van de oude sfeer die het gebied ook vroeger al speciaal maakte. Elke straat was het exclusieve domein van één ambacht (gilde) zodat er hele straten van smeden, zilverwinkels, papierwinkels, grafsteenmakers en nog veel meer zijn. Aanvankelijk waren er slechts 36 straten in de oude wijk maar vandaag zijn er meer dan 50 straten, ook al zijn veel van de straten kort en het gebied tamelijk compact.

We bieden u de unieke ervaring om de gerechten van de lokale bevolking te proberen. Om de lokale bevolking te steunen, kopen we onze etenswaar rechtstreeks bij de verkopers, restaurants of eethuisjes.

Bezoek Hanoi per fietstaxi en maak kennis met het leven in Hanoi. Deze 'authentieke' manier van reizen stelt bezoekers in staat het centrum in al zijn intensiteit te ontdekken. Het is net alsof u in het midden van een wervelwind van verkeer terechtkomt, verpakt in een kakofonie van toeters en een drukte van mensen die hun weg proberen te vinden in al deze opwinding.

Aan het einde van onze Hanoi rondleiding kunt u zelfstandig de omgeving verkennen of helpt uw gids u met een routebeschrijving of een taxi terug naar uw hotel.

Our tour had a delayed start as our guide Claudia was in a motorbike accident on her way to work. After assuring us she was well enough to continue we set off on the cyclos. I had Claudia riding with me while my boyfriend was in another cyclo behind us, which unfortunately meant that while I could talk to Claudia and get some information while we travelled he could not. All of the local food stops were places we probably would never have been able to find by ourselves and everything was delicious probably the best banh mi we had anywhere in Vietnam but we were disappointed that there was no real information provided about the Old Quarter or Hanoi in general. Even when we asked about what we could do or sights to see in Hanoi we weren't really given much of anything. Particularly disappointing as Claudia had perfect English so it would have been very easy to learn some of this information from her.

This was well worth the cost of the tour ! It was nice to get a feel of Hanoi, taste the different foods and see the area ! Our guide was very friendly, nice and we saw a lot in the short time of the tour ! Highly recommend.....

Only trouble was the guide thought we had booked an eating tour and didnt seem to know anything about our expectation of a cyclo ride. He did however give us a very interesting. Tour othe markets brew houses and we did get our cyclo ride.

Our guide arrived late and then he was still trying to organise the cyclo riders which meant we left 15 minutes late yet the tour ended exactly on time. We felt pressurised by the guide who was insistent on us going on some other tours after this tour. My husband's rider kept tapping him on the shoulder in the last 15 minutes saying money for beer all the time, so there was undoubted pressure for a gratuity. It may be better to use riders who are contracted to deliver this service to avoid this type of thing happening. We had done a lot of walking in the Old Quarter and felt that the tour did not add anything to our experience. If you are not a walker then this tour will give you a close view of the Old Quarter. In any event a person could simply call a rider and do this trip without having to work with a guide who actually did nothing except have a ride. Our guide was very pushy at the beginning and end for us to do more with him to the point that it became annoying. We were glad to get rid of him. ou

Belle our guide was lovely and informative and took us to places we would never have found on our own! We had a lovely morning eating our way thru Hanoi!
