Ontmoet uw gids bij Saigon Opera House vóór uw vertrek om 8:00 uur, en begin aan uw 8 uur durende tour vanuit Ho Chi Minh-stad in een touringcar met airconditioning. Na een rit van 2,5 uur over het platteland arriveert u in My Tho, een voormalige vlootbasis maar nu een bruisende havenstad in de Mekong Delta. Als eindstation van de Mekong-rivier, die door 6 landen loopt van Tibet naar Vietnam, produceert deze ongelooflijk vruchtbare regio ongeveer de helft van de totale Vietnamese landbouwproductie. Het leven speelt zich hier af rond de delta.
Bij aankomst in My Tho stapt u aan boord van een privé-boot voor een cruise op de Mekong-rivier. Tijdens de boottocht vertelt uw gids u over de geschiedenis van de regio en vaart u naar een eiland met tropische tuinen. Proef tropisch fruit voordat u verder gaat naar een ander eiland in de Mekong Delta, waar uw gids u nog meer verhalen over de huisindustrie van dit gebied, kokossnoepjes. Bezoek een kokossnoepfabriek, waar u kennis maakt met de geschiedenis van de industrie en kijk hoe deze lekkernij wordt gemaakt.
Tijdens uw tocht over de rivier stopt u bij kleine dorpjes en ervaart u de traditionele leefstijl, cultuur en gewoonten van de mensen die de Delta hun thuis noemen. Koop wat handgemaakte souvenirs terwijl u geniet van het rustige tempo in de Delta, dat een schril contrast vormt met de drukke straten van Ho Chi Minh-stad.
Stap over van uw boot in een Xe Loi, een gemotoriseerd wagentje dat u naar een bijenboerderij brengt. Daar stapt u weer over in een kleine roeiboot waarmee u nog dieper de smalle kanalen van de Delta opvaart.
Proef lokale Mekong-gerechten bij het Diem Phuong Restaurant waar u stopt voor een lunch. Na de lunch stapt u weer in de touringcar met airconditioning voor de terugreis vanuit Mijn Tho naar Ho Chi Minh-stad, waar u wordt teruggebracht naar Saigon Opera House.
Let op: knieën en schouders moeten bedekt zijn omdat de tour ook door landelijke gebieden komt.

tour as described. had a little bit of everything from tuk tuk, motor boat, to canoe rides. lunch was really good.

Travel time was reasonable and air con welcomed as it was hot! The initial boat on the Mekong was cooling and pleasant. We were taken to various locations that make up the Communities of the Delta. The boat on the river was fantastic even if getting off was a challenge but then again, not everybody had Osteoarthritis of the Spine and a damaged left knee and lower leg. Many thanks to the 2 Oz 1 Kiwi guys that helped me throughout the trip. So consideration should be given to a reasonable level of fitness. We were fed several times - there is a small extra charge for the local delicacy of grilled rat!!! I passed on the that one but others sampled and it's the only place in the world where I have heard "I'll get the drinks" with the response "ok, I'll get the rat!!!" A great day with nice friendly people from around the World. A must do from Ho Chi Minh City.

Thuong aka Miss Love was our tour guide. She greeted us with a smile and made the whole day a fun and positive experience. My seven year old and I came to Vietnam from Okinawa, Japan and met our family from California. We loved riding in the boat and visiting the three islands. Throng was the best ever at ensuring a great day seeing the local culture while making a wonderful memory.

First off, the company was kind enough to allow us to reschedule our trip last minute due to me getting food poisoning the night before. Once we finally went, the trip was amazing. Very interesting and adventurous. The driver of the boat was even kind enough to take care of my husband who got sick from food poisoning the night before the trip. I felt scared leaving him on the boat, but he was in good hands.

Highly recommend this tour for people who want the thrill of countryside life and are not too worried about time passing by - just relaxing and being in the present! I took the tour on 24-Nov with a most attentive and caring guide, Linda. She made sure we were enjoying ourselves and immersing in the life outside of Ho Chi Minh city. She was very knowledgable and even shared some of her personal stories too. The highlight for me was riding the small boat in the delta and fantastic lunch!
