Over deze activiteit
After pickup from your Jaipur hotel, travel by air-conditioned vehicle to the venue for your Holi festivities.
This ancient Hindu festival plays out across India every March, celebrating the advent of spring and triumph of good over evil. Nicknamed the ‘festival of colors,’, its best-known event involves people throwing colored powder over each other — a tradition derived from the legend of Krishna, who liked to drench local girls in colors. The powders are splashed by hand, water pistol, or powder bombs in a frenetic celebration, leaving everyone drenched in multiple colors.
Meet your local family hosts, and enjoy a traditional Indian welcome, accepting a flower garland and tikka, a teardrop of color applied to your forehead. Then, head for the outdoor terrace to enjoy the fun-filled color bombardment to the beat of dholaks — the traditional drums of Holi.
Throw and splash the dry and wet organic colors at the other participants, breaking for sodas and homemade snacks like gujiya (sweet dumplings) and mathri (flaky biscuits).
After the fun-filled cat-and-mouse game, relax over a delicious lunch served with beer, sodas, and juices.
Then, with the celebrations over, your tour concludes with a hotel drop-off.
