Uw ervaring van een hele dag met een kleine groep begint als u om 9:00 uur wordt opgehaald in een minibus met airconditioning bij uw hotel in de omgeving van Krakau of de ontmoetingsplaats. Reis naar het herdenkingsmonument en museum van Auschwitz-Birkenau, waar een professionele gids op u staat te wachten. U krijgt een rondleiding door het voormalige nazi-concentratie- en vernietigingskamp en komt meer te weten over zijn duistere verleden en de uiteindelijke bevrijding, te beginnen met kamp Auschwitz I, het vroegere administratieve centrum van de SS. Na een pauze van 10 minuten gaat u naar het tweede kamp, Auschwitz-Birkenau II.
Na deze ontnuchterende ervaring reist u naar het UNESCO-werelderfgoed de zoutmijn van Wieliczka, waar u een lunchpauze van 1 uur hebt voordat u via honderden treden afdaalt voor een rondleiding door het historische mijncomplex. U wordt begeleid door een lokale gids, die u zal vertellen over de geschiedenis van een van 's werelds oudste zoutmijnen. U verkent ongelooflijke ruimtes, oorspronkelijke beelden van zoutsteen en authentieke werkplekken van mijnwerkers.

I have read so much about the extermination of the people sent to Auschwitz but until you have actually been to this place and really saw what went on it is chilling and astounding that human beings can be so cruel and without thought or feelings toward mankind no matter who you are. Thank goodness we went down the Mines in Wieliczka to give a little respite and peace after Auschwitz.

Our guide Felip was a wonderful host. He was remarkably respectful and informative for the first section of the tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau.. He ensured that all guests were well informed but did not overdo anything. The second section of the tour was to Wieliczka Salt Mine and they supplied an excellent guide. Overall, a tiring but wonderful day.

Really enjoyed our day trip combining the Salt Mines and Auschwitz-Birkenau. Time constraints made it necessary to do both in the one day and it was sufficient time for both. It was a long day, really enjoyed the salt mines. Auschwitz and Birkenau was harrowing but very worthwhile, it is important that people do not forget and seeing the camps will give you a very good insight into what these people went through.

The combination of the two halves of the day was perfect. After the difficult morning we were all ready for lunch. (Lunch is NOT included in the package). Viator did a good job of making the reservation and working with a local transport and guide company. Viator is a Trip Advisor company and not the local guide. The price was the same as the local guide price so don't spend time looking around. There was 7 of us on our tour. The guides were wonderful and really made the day. We had some very minor waits as our small group was consolidated with bigger groups for the tour. The transport was exactly on time and the day went exactly as advertised. For anyone coming to Krakow we would think this tour is a must.
