Ontmoet uw gids vroeg in de ochtend in het centrum van Londen en verlaat de stad per luxe bus. Leun achterover en ontspan terwijl stedelijke bezienswaardigheden plaats maken voor het Engelse platteland.

Uw eerste stop is in Bath, een chique stad in de West Country die haar naam dankt aan de historische warmwaterbronnen. Zet uw hoofdtelefoon op (indien nodig) om het commentaar van uw gids goed te kunnen horen en verken vervolgens lopend deze stad, die op de erfgoedlijst van UNESCO staat.

Bekijk de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de stad en geniet van de caramelgetinte Georgiaanse architectuur, halve manen en terrassen die als inspiratiebron dienden voor twee romans van Jane Austen: Persuasion en Northanger Abbey.

Geniet daarna van wat vrije tijd om op uw gemak door de straten met kinderkopjes te wandelen. U kunt ook een bezoek brengen aan de Romeinse baden en het Jane Austen Visitor Centre (op eigen kosten). Dit centrum is een eerbetoon aan een van de beroemdste inwoners van de stad, en laat een momentopname zien van het leven tijdens de Regencyperiode.

Als het tijd is, stapt u weer in de bus en rijdt u noordwaarts richting de Cotswolds, een gebied van uitzonderlijke natuurlijke schoonheid gekenmerkt door charmante parochies en dorpen met rieten daken. U rijdt door tot het dorp Lacock. Deze charmante parochie, onaangetast door de moderne tijd, komt voor in verschillende films, waaronder Pride and Prejudice en de Harry Potterfilms. Vervolgens hebt u pauze voor een lunch (op eigen kosten).

Maak uw laatste stop bij Stonehenge, ook vermeld op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO. Deze ongeveer 5000 jaar oude prehistorische steencirkel is gehuld in mysterie. Loop met uw gids rond de stenen en het bezoekerscentrum en luister naar de verschillende theorieën over hoe en waarom het werd gecreëerd.

Ga na uw bezoek weer terug naar uw bus voor de terugreis naar Londen. Uw dagtrip eindigt bij het beginpunt.

Absolutely loved this tour! I researched for hours and hours on various sites to try and find the best use of my time in England. Mark was a fabulous guide for our small group of just under ten people. We had beautiful fall weather making the tour extra enjoyable, but the length of time in each stop was what really made the tour ideal. I was traveling alone so I appreciated the more intimate feel to the tour while still having free time to visit the Roman Baths in Bath, grab lunch in Lacock and wander around Stonehenge. Mark did an amazing job giving plenty of insight into each of the stops on the tour without talking the entire time while driving.

Well paced, enjoyable tour. Our guide Pepe was very knowledgeable and passionate about the sights we were visiting. We were given 2 hours on our own in Bath, 90 minutes in Lacock in the Cotswolds, for lunch, after a nice tour of this tiny town, and about 2-3 hours at Stonehenge. The time in Bath went very quickly, as there is a lot to see at the baths. We didn't have time to see it all. The admission was not included, it was around 14 pounds, and included an audio headset. Lacock is a small village. There are many movies an shows filmed in the area and Pepe was keen to point these places out. Scenes for Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth was filmed at Lacock Abbbey, as were scenes for Harry Potter movies. The house shown in the second movie belonging to his real parents is there. Stonehenge has grown considerably since I last visited. The car park and visitor's center is far from Stonehenge and requires transport by bus. The line for the bus was quite long and the buses did not run as frequently as I felt they should have, only my opinion, but one is ready and excited to see this special place and the delay was frustrating. Pepe, was very good at explaining the various theories behind this collection of rocks and gave us great insights. He was obviously very passionate about this area and it showed. He answered questions with humor and great interest. In all it was a long, but great day. Pepe's enthusiasm added to the experience and we all had a great time. We met the group at the Gloucester Tube station at 7:30am and returned around around 7:30pm. Thanks, Pepe, for a great day!

This is a full day and covers a lot of ground. I knew it would be a whirlwind tour and it was. Our guides were good. I thought there might be a little more commentary on the long drive out to Bath about history and places but what we did get was satisfactory. If you are short on time and want to pack several sights in, then this is a good tour for you. But be advised you will not have more than 90 minutes or so in each location.
