Ontmoet uw gids in de ochtend nabij Castel Nuovo, een imposante burcht en voormalige koninklijke residentie die plaatselijk bekend staat als het kasteel Maschio Angioino. Vervolgens maakt u samen met uw gids en kleine groep een wandeling door het centrum van het historische Napels om kennis te maken met het unieke streetfood van Napels.
Al wandelend luistert u naar verhalen over de geschiedenis en de befaamde keuken van Napels. Bekijk lokale bezienswaardigheden, waaronder het grootse Teatro di San Carlo, het oudste operagebouw van Europa. Uw eerste stop is in een café tegenover de opera. Hier kunt u deelnemen aan een Napolitaanse ochtendtraditie, namelijk het drinken van een sterke Italiaanse espresso.
Ga verder naar het uitgestrekte Piazza del Plebiscito en bekijk de indrukwekkende monumenten die daar omheen staan, waaronder de opvallende en enorme gevel van het Koninklijk Paleis van Napels. Betreed de nabijgelegen Galleria Umberto I, een prachtig 19e-eeuws winkelcentrum met een prachtig glazen dak en mozaïekvloer. Geniet daar van een zoete traktatie - een fris en warm sfogliatella-gebakje, gemaakt van heerlijke lagen zacht deeg.
Veeg de kruimels zo nodig weg en ga verder naar een nabijgelegen markt voor levensmiddelen. U maakt kennis met een reeks lokale specialiteiten en bekijkt de verse producten bij de groente- en viskraampjes. Proef een volgende snack op straat. Deze snack is afhankelijk van het seizoen en van beschikbaarheid, maar kan bijvoorbeeld bestaan uit 'o pére e ‘o musso (koud vlees met zout en citroen) of een pizzette (kleine pizza) .
Na het verlaten van de markt gaat u naar Spaccanapoli, een rechte smalle straat die de oude stad van Napels in twee delen splitst. De tour eindigt bij het centraal gelegen Piazza Dante. Voordat u afscheid neemt van uw gids, krijgt u aanbevelingen over de beste pizzeria's en restaurants, waar u kunt genieten van nog meer heerlijke Napolitaanse gerechten.

This tour is awesome! We were lucky enough to be the only 2 on the tour this day! Silvia our guide was absolutely fantastic. She is a true Neapolitan who loves her city and knows the history and food culture so well. Every food vendor was excited to see her. The food was incredible and we skipped dinner that evening- pastry, fried pizza, buffalo mozzarella, fried fish, hazelnut espresso and gelato....it was all incredible. But really-- a tour guide makes the tour and Silvia was the best! Even the tour company was great to work with after a mix up over which language we wanted the tour in-- Silvia does tours in both English and French so confirm which group you are with-- it didn't matter for us since we were the only ones on the tour but the company was gracious and called to confirm everything the evening before. Thank you Silvia for an unforgettable experience.

What a great way to see Naples and sample a wide variety of foods and drink. Can't say enough about our guide Sylvia who really made this a special tour. Both her knowledge of the history as we walked around the city as well as her selection of samples from special coffee and pastry to fresh sea food at the market were outstanding. I don't think we could have asked for more. Also, she provided us with some incredible recommendations for dinner which turned out to be the best we had in a city that is full of great food. Top marks

Everything was delicious, and Silvia is an excellent guide! This tour is highly recommended for those who enjoy walking and tasting delicious foods while learning about a city.

My only complaint was there was too much food! Everything from the professor's coffee to offal I would never have tried otherwise to calzones to delicately fried bites of fish to gelato was perfect. I highly recommend the tour to anyone who would like to try anything and everything while learning the history of how these peasant foods developed to much of the comfort foods we eat today. Try it , you'll like it. No actually you'll love it. A great way to spend an afternoon in exploring Naples that left us wanting more.

Outstanding!!! Our guide was 5 star! She was so informative and accommodating. Excellent English. Would highly recommend this if you would like to see some of the off the beaten track areas of Naples. Food was excellent.

My husband, mother-in-law, and I took this tour recently and enjoyed it very much. Our cruise ship docked in Naples for the day and we were seeking something different than the planned excursions our cruise offered us. This definitely fit the bill! Our tour guide Giuseppe was very informative, friendly and fun to walk and talk with while we ate our way through town. As Americans, we felt very comfortable and would recommend this to others. Just as a warning, we got very full and couldn't finish everything offered to us. So, pace yourself. :
