Met de auto naar verschillende wijnmakerijen rijden is leuk, maar op de fiets is het nog leuker! Tijdens deze fietstocht met wijnproeverij in Niagara-on-the-Lake fietst u over rustige landwegen en paden en stopt u bij de beste wijnmakerijen van de streek. De wijnstreek Niagara-on-the-Lake maakt deel uit van de grotere wijnstreek Ontario en is beroemd om verschillende heerlijke wijnen. Tijdens deze tour kunt u veel wijnen proeven, waaronder de beroemde ijswijn van Ontario. Door het ontspannen tempo en de relatief vlakke fietspaden kunt u gemakkelijk fietsen (ook na een paar glazen wijn).
Nadat u uw gids hebt ontmoet bij het beginpunt, gaat u naar de historische regio Niagara-on-the-Lake en naar vier of vijf wijnmakerijen (afhankelijk van de gekozen optie), variërend van grootschalige bedrijven tot kleine familiebedrijven. Als u besluit tot aankoop van een fles (of 10!), zullen uw aankopen worden opgehaald en na afloop bij u worden bezorgd.
Tour van een halve dag met kaasplateau: u bezoekt vier wijnmakerijen in Niagara-on-the-Lake tijdens deze 4,5 uur durende tour die begint met een begeleide tour van wijngaard tot proeflokaal in een van de grootste en meest iconische wijnmakerijen van de streek. Daarna bezoekt u drie kleine wijnmakerijen om nog meer wijn te proeven. U gaat onder andere naar Pondview Estates Winery, een van de nieuwste wijnmakerijen in de streek, waar u kunt genieten van een wijnproeverij in combinatie met speciale kazen.
Tour van een hele dag met picknicklunch: deze 6,5 uur durende tour begint met een ontspannen fietstocht naar een van de grootste wijnmakerijen van Niagara-on-the-Lake, waar u een rondleiding krijgt door de wijngaard en kunt genieten van een wijnproeverij. Daarna fietst u naar de prachtige Caroline Cellars voor een heerlijke lunch en wijnproeverij. Na de lunch zijn er nog wijnproeverijen bij twee wijnmakerijen met een kleine productie.

Our guide was Thom. He started by picking us up at our hotel and on the way a few other couples. On the way to the start of the tour, Thom gave us some tidbits of information about Niagara-on-the-Lake and other interesting facts about wine and the area. The actual tour was great! The wine definitely did not make it easy to pedal but that seemed to only be my problem as I wasn't holding my alcohol as well as the rest of the bunch! Thom was incredibly considerate and caring and always made sure that the group stuck together and no one was left behind. If the ride became a little tiring by the end he made sure to give us a break and a sit down during the wine tastings. All the wineries were great! I would recommend though, that if you aren't able to drink a lot not to do any of the extra tastings that some of the wineries offer, because it will make it very difficult for you to ride back after the tours! Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience and Thom was a great and fun guide! I would definitely recommend this tour for you if you love wine and bike riding. It's the safest way to do both together.
I booked the half day tour as a girlie day out for myself and my best friend to catch up. We had such a good experience from start to finish, beginning with a complimentary shuttle service from our hotel by the falls to Niagara on the lake, from where we got to cycle and tour around 4 winery’s with a sample of 4 wines in each destination - great value for a brilliant day out
Great guide, organized and fun! Biking was really nice and the vineyards were lovely. Definitely will look into taking another tour in the future!
This was such a fun experiance. Lucky for us it was a beautiful day for biking. Our guide was the sweetest lady. We can’t wait to visit again a small do another all day tour.
Despite the rainy weather at the start of our tour, we thoroughly enjoyed the bike ride and wine tour. It was a relatively easy bike ride and the scenery was beautiful. We went to four different wineries and each one was unique. Our tour guide was great and very conscientious with regards to making sure everyone was keeping up. Great tour!
We did this with our tow adult sons. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Our group was a nice size and our two guides were fantastic. We toured three small wineries and one larger winery. All four were unique and had their positives and negative. The bicycling was mostly flat, so it was incredibly easy and the weather was perfect. Water was provided as well. We did no do the optional picnic lunch and we kind of wished we would have.....there's always next time. We would Highly Recommend!!
We did the 1/2 day cycling wine-tasting tour with cheese pairing. We cycled to 4 wineries. The weather was perfect, the group a nice size and a great guide.We thoroughly enjoyed the wineries, the pace of cycling and the commentaries. The bikes were in good shape and water was supplied. Definitely recommend!
The bikes were super comfortable and easy to use, and our guide was amazing. The ride was not that tough as it was mostly flat. The wines we tasted at the wineries weren't that great, but that's my personal taste-we were given a lot of Rieslings and ice wines to sample, and I don't enjoy sweet wines. Caroline's Cellar was my favourite by far. I would recommend this tour.
This trip was amazing! We had such a wonderful time at all the wineries. Pete was an excellent guide and ensured that we had everything we needed. Traveling by bike was such a fun way to see the area!
