I chose this tour so I could see more of New Zealand since we only had limited amounts of time to explore the country. We were able to see a lot on this tour and the scenery is amazing! The place where we stopped for lunch had amazing views and great food to purchase and we had plenty of time to walk around and take photos. The only thing I disappointed about was a lot of the places we stopped at were busy especially the house of the Good Shepherd and we had such a short time at some of the spots so it was hard to get good photos without people in them. I'm not sure how you would avoid that unless you go at a different time of year or know what to hit the viewing spots during non busy times. Also our driver was seemed somewhat moody and not sure if he didn't enjoy driving 12 hours that can be tiring or what his issue was, but overall it was worth the trip for me just for the scenery.
This tour was very disappointing. I had expected it to be more of a tour-cum-transport option but it was just a regular bus service with a weird route. The bus stopped for 4-5 times at service stations / road side shops for toilet and shopping and only twice at scenic locations for photos one of which was barely 5 minutes long. The hotel and lunch at Mount Cook was nice. The scheduled stop there was 1h45 minutes. We arrived about 30 minutes late, but left on schedule. That left practically no time to do anything else besides lunch. It wasn't even enough to thoroughly see the alpine centre at the hotel itself. This tour is too expensive for what is nothing more than a local bus service.
Beautiful Location with good arrangement
Traversing Queenstown to Christchurch with a lot of stops specially in Mount Cook is a great experience for me. Having a limited time in New Zealand this is another great option to do.
