Toegang zonder wachten: wandeltour van een halve dag in het Oude Rome en het Colosseum:
Deze tour voor kleine groepen van 3 uur is perfect voor iedereen die Rome voor de eerste keer bezoekt. U begint met een rustige wandeling op de Oppius voor een onvergetelijk uitzicht op het Colosseum, de meest iconische bezienswaardigheid van het Oude Rome. Nadat u terug naar beneden bent gelopen, kunt u de lange rij voor de ingang van het Colosseum negeren en deze beroemde bezienswaardigheid met voorrang verkennen onder leiding van uw ervaren gids. Terwijl u over de fascinerende begane grond en eerste verdieping loopt, vertelt uw gids u verhalen over het interessante maar brute verleden van het amfitheater, waar ooit bloeddorstige gladiatoren streden.

Nadat u het Colosseum hebt verlaten, gaat u naar het Oude Rome om de Boog van Constantijn te bekijken en vervolgens naar het Forum Romanum en de Palatijn te gaan. Uw tour eindigt op de Via Sacra, de hoofdstraat die het Colosseum en het Capitool met elkaar verbindt. Hierna hebt u ongeveer twee uur vrije tijd. Verken de indrukwekkende ruïnes of geniet van een lunch in een van de vele dichtbijgelegen restaurants (op eigen kosten) voordat uw middagtour begint.

'Best of Rome'-wandeltour:
Nadat u zich weer hebt aangesloten bij uw kleine groep en de gids op het Piazza di Spagna, vertrekt u in een rustig tempo voor de wandeltour met gids van 2,5 uur. Onderweg naar het centrum van Rome komt u langs de prachtige Santa Maria del Popolo en worden u interessante verhalen en legenden verteld, zoals hoe de gehate keizer Nero bij deze kerk is begraven. Loop verder naar de elegante Spaanse Trappen die vanaf de Trinita dei Monti naar beneden lopen. Daarna gaat u verder naar de majestueuze Trevifontijn, waar u een pauze kunt nemen.

Vervolgens wandelen we verder naar het Piazza Colonna, een stijlvol plein dat de Romeinen in de Oudheid als het centrum van hun stad beschouwden. Daarna krijgt u een fantastische gelegenheid om foto's te nemen bij het wereldberoemde Pantheon, een unieke historische tempel met gladde marmeren zuilen. Volg uw gids over het bedrijvige Piazza Navona met de kenmerkende, rijkversierde fonteinen en levendige cafés.

Fantastic tour guides for both morning and afternoon tours. “Gigi” and Maria were both very knowledgeable and fun tour guides. They answered all of our questions and gave us an amazing history lesson!

To visit the ancient sites in Rome, there are lines everywhere - first to buy a ticket for admission, then to get through security check. You end up wasting a lot of the day away spending hours in line per each site. However, with this tour, tickets are already included and you get to skip the lines! Also adds important and fascinating context to everything you are seeing. The storytelling is great and don’t think we would have learned as much as we did. We had Damiani for the first half and Doriana for the second. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone.

These two tours are combined into one. The guide's were very knowledgeable. Which is a plus. I would recommend doing the tours on different days the day could be very long but worth it.

I only did the morning tour in order to meet up with my traveling companions, but I really enjoyed the tour with Nadia. She was very knowledgeable about the Colosseum and Roman Forum and made the tour so interesting. She injected a good amount of humor and helped make us feel like we could really imagine being in those places during their heyday. Of course we had a "problem child" in the group who had gotten separated from the group, but Nadia was the ultimate professional and got the person back with us. I'm really sorry that I had to miss the afternoon tour, as I know it would have been equally informative and interesting.

We never got to do this tour, my husband I and were on a cruise that docked in Civativecchia and had to take a train and subway to meet the group in Rome. Leave PLENTY of time (3 hrs) between the port and this tour, because we only missed by 10 min and they left without us. One of the employees was kind enough to let me use her cell to get a credit for another tour but just wanted to warn anyone booking this going fwd!

This was my second time doing this tour and it didn’t disappoint! Our guides were interactive and super knowledgeable! They were also willing to share other tips and recommendations with their groups! Highly recommend this combo tour! Great info about Rome and the history!

We had such a great tour experience with Amanda as our guide. Her passion and knowledge for the Colosseum and The Roman Forum were unmatched, so much that we didn't want the afternoon to end! The only line we really had to wait was for security, but there was no bypassing that. Once inside she did a fantastic job navigating us through the features and crowds, peppering in historical bits and keeping things interesting while giving us plenty of time to explore and look around too before moving on to the ruins of the Forum. Great sense of humor, vast knowledge, friendly and welcoming, we'd book another tour with her in a heartbeat! Thanks Amanda!
