Begin your sightseeing adventure in the north of the island, at the scenic village of Oia: one of Santorini’s most visually striking locations, the village has long inspired artists with its beauty, and sits overlooking the island’s caldera.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Firostefani, Firostefani, Santorini, Cyclades, South Aegean

Next, head to the traditional, cliff-top village of Imerovigli before venturing to Firostefani, another nearby village that's famous for its distinctive, blue-domed church. You will also see and learn about the geological formation of the island, the genesis, and history of Santorini.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Red Beach, Akrotiri Greece

Afterwards, it’s on to the island’s appropriately named Red and Black Beaches. Both are named for their distinctively colored sand, and offer stunning views over the Aegean Sea.

Stop At: Monastery of Profitis Ilias, 3 km from Pyrgo Thira, Moni Profitou Ilia, Moni Profitou Iliou 847 00 Greece

Head to Profitis Ilias, which is the highest hill in Santorini. From its top (567 m) enjoy the panoramic view of the Aegean Sea. There, you will get to visit a Greek Orthodox chapel, listen to the sounds of Byzantine music and get a taste of their hand-made products.

Stop At: Santo Winery, Pyrgos 84701 Greece

Lastly, wind your tour down with an indulgent stop at a local winery. Santorini has produced its own wine since ancient times, and sampling its varietals is the perfect way to get a taste of the island’s history.

Note that bespoke itineraries and custom additions to the tour are also available. Your tour will conclude when your private driver drops you off at your accommodation, cruise ship port, airport, or any other preferred location.

We had a very brief time in Santorini on our cruise. We wanted to see so many different parts of the island so we decided to go with this private shore excursion. We told our driver some of the places that we wanted to see so he took us to Profitis Ilias, the black beach, the red beach, Oia, and the Firostefani blue domed church. It was a whirl-wind and we wish that we had more time on the island to really spend time and enjoy each location, but our driver was great getting us to see all the places and making sure we still had enough time to enjoy the town of Oia. I would definitely recommend this excursion for anyone on a time-crunch wanting to see as much of the island as possible.
